YAG Laser Capsulotomy

After cataract surgery the capsular bag that holds the intraocular lens implant (IOL) can become clouded. This can happen as soon as a few weeks or months after your cataract surgery or as long as several years. We call this posterior capsular clouding (PCO) and this can be fixed with a YAG laser capsulotomy. The YAG laser capsulotomy is a very quick, painless procedure and many patients will notice the return of clarity even later in the day.
