Who is a Good Candidate?

Anyone considering LASIK needs to be at least 18 years old, in good general health, and have good eye health. Prior to having surgery it is important that you receive a thorough pre-operative evaluation by an eyecare provider.

Before surgery is performed it is necessary to have the following tests performed:

  • Full dilated eye health examination
  • Undilated and dilated prescription measurement
  • Normal and dim light pupil measurements
  • Orbscan II corneal thickness measurement and corneal mapping
  • Dry eye evaluation

Current laser technology is able to treat a wide range of nearsightedness, astigmatism, and farsightedness. Following the pre-operative evaluation, your doctor should be able to decide if laser vision correction is right for you.
